What Does Getting Dental Implants Involve?
For most patients, getting dental implants is a 3-step process.

Dr. Aldredge will perform a thorough examination to determine the type of implant you need and whether your bones and gums will require treatment to be able to support the implant.
Placement:
Dr. Aldredge will use digital tools to make a 3D image of your mouth. He will use this as a guide to determine the best placement and angle for the implant. In a simple surgical procedure. he places the implant into the jaw. The implant bonds with the jaw bone, which will grow around it in a process called osseointegration. Depending on your individual needs, this can take a few weeks to a few months. In some cases a second surgery may be required to place an abutment, a post that will hold the replacement tooth in place.
During this time, you will never be without teeth. You’ll be provided with a custom, temporary prosthetic as your implant heals.
